Encouraging High Tide Card for Kylie's International Blog Highlight April 2019 and #GDP183

Today I'm playing along with my friend Kylie's International Blog Highlight with Stampin' Up! demonstrators from around the world.  Our theme this month is "Encouragement."  This theme is pretty apropos considering that so many people I know are feeling discouraged lately whether it be for health reasons or other factors beyond their control making life a real struggle.  Even April has decided to play a cruel joke on those of us here in upstate NY by shifting the weather from 60 degrees F on Saturday to 30 degrees and snowy yesterday & today.  Apparently Winter isn't giving up without a fight!

Anyways, over at the Global Design Project challenge the theme this week is A Day at the Park.  I thought two themes fit well together so I pulled out my High Tide stamp set to create a card inspired by the beautiful little park closest to my home, Myers Park.
Myers Park in Lansing, NY is one of my favorite spots to visit.  It's nestled alongside the shores of Cayuga Lake and is a great spot for kayaking, playing on the playground, family picnics, and watching the sunset.  During the summer months I like to get an ice cream from one of the local shops and head down to the park for a quick walk and enjoy the calm of the water lapping at the shore.  There's even a little light house at the end of the beach that marks the channel for the boats to come into the harbor.  And of course there are LOTs of seagulls!
